Abstract:
The present invention realizes a redundant configuration having operation continuity during a failure at low cost and safely executes power source switching. A vehicle control system comprising: a first electric motor for running a vehicle; a second electric motor for generating electricity by using an output from a motive power source and starting up the motive power source; a power storage device that stores electricity generated by the second electric motor and supplies the electricity to the first electric motor; a monitoring device that monitors the failure state of the vehicle; a driving force switching device that switches the driving force for running the vehicle from the first electric motor to the second electric motor, wherein, when the monitoring device detects failure of the first electric motor and the vehicle is in a prescribed driving state where the driving force is acquired from the second electric motor, the switching device is controlled so as to switch the driving force for running the vehicle from the first electric motor to the second electric motor.
