Abstract:

A vehicle display apparatus is provided with: a speedometer that measures the speed of a vehicle; an economy level determination means that determines the economy level of vehicle operation on the basis of the difference between a recommended amount of depression, which is a recommended amount of depression of the accelerator, and an actual amount of depression, which is an actual amount that the driver stepped down on the accelerator; a determination display unit disposed in a peripheral visual field area of the driver to display information indicating the result of determination by the economy level determination means; a details display unit disposed outside the peripheral visual field area to display information indicating the contrast between the recommended amount of depression and the actual amount of depression; and a display control means that controls the display by the determination display unit and the details display unit. The display control means implements the following control: (A) Makes the display by the determination display unit an ambient display such that the contrast in an outline region is smaller than the contrast inside the outline region. (B) Causes the ambient display to be varied in accordance with a change in the economy level based on the result of determination by the economy level determination means.
