Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle door latching device that can stop and temporarily hold an auxiliary cover in an open position with a simple means. An auxiliary cover 36 can be temporarily held in an open position by way of a hinge shaft 38 provided in the auxiliary cover 36 being rotatably fitted between a pair of elastic holding pieces 42 provided in a cover 18 that forms a portion of a casing, a portion to be stopped 39 being provided on the auxiliary cover 36, a stopper portion 43 that can abut the portion to be stopped 39 being provided on the cover 18, and the portion to be stopped 39 moving to the opposite side over the distal end portion of the stopper portion 43 when the auxiliary cover 36 rotates in the opening direction.
