Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle door latching device that can be assembled in a door more easily. A hole to be engaged 21 is provided in a portion of a housing 12 that faces an inner panel D1 to which a cover plate 6 is fixed, wherein the hole to be engaged allows an engaging unit 2 and an operating unit to be suspended in a door by way of engaging with an engaging part 22 of the inner panel D1 in a state in which the engaging unit 2 is not anchored to the inner panel D1.
