Abstract:

Disclosed is a vehicle door lock device such that a housing is provided with an outside housing body and an inside housing body, said outside housing body comprising a coating section which coats the outside of an electric motor and of a worm, an active lever outside shaft support section, and a worm wheel outside shaft support section, said inside housing body comprising an active lever inside shaft support section and a worm wheel inside shaft support section. The outside surface of the coating section in the outside housing body and the outside surface of the active lever outside shaft support section in the outside housing body are located on the same flat plane. The outside surface of the worm wheel outside shaft support section in the outside housing body is an indented surface which is recessed from said flat plane. Due to the above, the shape and the structure of the vehicle door lock device are such that the same can be easily held by a hand, and that thereby the workability pertaining to the mounting of this device can be made satisfactory.
