Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide, in a vehicle door operating device assembled in a sliding door for a vehicle, technology that is effective in suitably restoring a latch mechanism from a sliding door closed hold release state to a closed hold state when a motor power transmission lever stops in a pivot region between an initial position and a pivot terminal position due to an electrical failure when a release motor is operating or the like. This vehicle door operating device comprises a canceling mechanism that moves a coupling member, by using rotational movement of an inside handle lever that occurs with the closing operation of an inside handle, from a coupled position in which an outside handle lever and the motor power transmission lever are coupled to a coupling release position in which the coupling of the outside handle lever and the motor power transmission lever is released when the motor power transmission lever is stopped in a pivot region between an initial position and a pivot terminal position when the release motor is operated.
