Abstract:
In S13, a vehicle position road radius of curvature (R3) is determined from a lateral acceleration (Gy) and a vehicle speed (VSP). When it is determined in S14 that R3 has become less than a curved road determination value (Rs1), a travel distance from that moment on is accumulated in S15. When it is determined in S16 that a road radius of curvature (R2) at a current position on map data has become less than Rs1, the accumulating of the travel distance is terminated in S17, and a travel distance (ΔL1) (vehicle position/current position discrepancy amount) from the time of determination of R3 < Rs1 to the time of determination of R2 < Rs1 is determined. When it is determined in S18 that ΔL1 is equal to or greater than a set value (ΔL1s), the discrepancy is eliminated by correcting a distance (L1) from the current position to a forward curved road only by ΔL1 in S19. In S20, a corrected distance (L1') to the forward curved road corrected in S19 is used instead of the distance (L1) before correction, so as to implement safe drive assist or fuel economy drive assist on the forward curved road with increased accuracy.
