Title:
VEHICLE DRIVE DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/077153
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
When auxiliary field magnets (8a, 8b) are not provided, a magnetic flux passes through each of main field magnets (7a, 7b) and interlinks a stator winding (5) and a first rotor winding (6), while another magnetic flux passes through each of the main field magnets (7a, 7b) and short-circuits to adjacent main field magnets (7a', 7b'). The short-circuiting magnetic flux does not contribute to the generation of torque, and thus does not form a suitable inner peripheral magnetic circuit thereby reducing the torque transmitted between a second rotor (4) and a first rotor (3). Whereas, when the auxiliary field magnets (8a, 8b) are provided, the short-circuiting magnetic flux interlinks the first rotor winding (6) due to the auxiliary field magnets (8a, 8b) and forms an inner peripheral magnetic circuit thereby increasing the motor drive torque transmitted between the second rotor (4) and the first rotor (3).
