Abstract:

A vehicle drive device (100) comprises: a first drive unit (100A) which has a first driving force source (D1) and drives a first wheel (W1); a second drive unit (100B) which has a second driving force source (D2) and drives a second wheel (W2); and a control device (10). When the remaining battery level of a storage battery (BT) is lower than a first threshold (TH1), the vehicle speed (V) is lower than a second threshold (TH2) and is zero or more, and requested driving force (Tr) is zero or more, the control device (10) carries out control so that the operation mode of the first drive unit (100A) is set to a second mode and the requested driving force (Tr) is output from the second drive unit (100B). When the vehicle speed (V) is greater than zero and the requested driving force (Tr) is less than zero, the control device (10) carries out control so that the operation mode of the first drive unit (100A) is set to a first mode, regenerative power generation is performed by the first driving force source (D1), an internal combustion engine (EG) is in an operating state, and the requested driving force (Tr) is output from both the first drive unit (100A) and the second drive unit (100B).
