Abstract:

The present invention ensures erroneous pedestrian determination prevention performance and makes the timing at which a driving assist control starts earlier while traveling. The present invention is equipped with external recognition sensors for acquiring forward information for a vehicle (A), and when the external recognition sensors detect a pedestrian B, executes an automatic braking control for avoiding contact with the pedestrian (B) by the vehicle (A). A front camera unit (1) and a millimeter wave radar (2) are provided as the external recognition sensors for this electric-vehicle driving assist control method. When a target object present in front of the vehicle (A) is detected as a pedestrian candidate (B') on the basis of an image signal from the front camera unit (1), execution of the automatic braking control is enabled with the detected pedestrian candidate (B') as the control target. Thereafter, the present invention compares the pedestrian candidate (B') detected by the front camera unit (1) and the target object (D1) detected from a reflected wave from the millimeter wave radar (2), determines whether a match occurs therebetween, and on the basis of the comparison/determination results, determines whether or not to continue executing the automatic braking control.
