Abstract:
The present invention realizes a vehicle driving assistance device that can reduce unnecessary vehicle speed holding time, which causes discomfort for a driver of a vehicle, and can assist the smooth running of the vehicle. In the case where, while a preceding vehicle 701 is being followed, the preceding vehicle 701 is decelerated, for example, to make a left turn, and thereafter the preceding vehicle 701 makes a left turn and disappears from view, when there is no peak information that exceeds a threshold 801 in front of (beyond) the distance equal to (the distance to the preceding vehicle) + α and the vertical strips for which the density of effective parallax exceeds a preset threshold are present in the number equal to or larger than a threshold in a set range 703, it is determined that the preceding vehicle 701 has left. It is possible to execute appropriate vehicle control when the preceding vehicle 701 makes a left turn or the like.
