Abstract:
A vehicle engine starting method according to the present invention is provided with a first hub, a second hub, and a damper that connects the first hub and the second hub to each other in a power transmission path between a generator that enables power generation and power running and an engine. The vehicle engine starting method includes: making a determination as to whether a start of the engine is needed; starting cranking of the engine by the generator when the start of the engine is needed; performing first ignition during the cranking and when a torque fluctuation due to twisting of the first hub and the second hub falls within a range absorbable by the damper; and suppressing engine torque produced by the first ignition by engine torque produced by second or subsequent ignition.
