Abstract:
A vehicle entry system 1 that comprises a portable terminal 3 and an onboard device 2 that wirelessly communicates with the portable terminal 3. The onboard device 2 has: a door opening/closing unit 12 that can lock a vehicle door in a closed state and open the vehicle door to a prescribed angle; and an onboard control unit 14 that, on the basis of commands transmitted from an authenticated portable terminal 3, controls a vehicle V drive system and the door opening/closing unit 12. The portable terminal 3 has a touch panel 52 and a terminal control unit 42 that, on the basis of operations performed on the touch panel 52, outputs commands to the onboard control unit 14. A plurality of icons are displayed on the touch panel 52. The plurality of icons include: an advance-and-open-door icon for giving a command to advance to a location at which the vehicle door can open and, after advancing, to open the vehicle door; and a reverse-and-open-door icon for giving a command to reverse to a location at which the vehicle door can open and, after reversing, to open the vehicle door.
