Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle fender liner which can be easily formed into a three-dimensional shape, and is configured in such a way as to demonstrate high sound absorbing properties and excellent anti-icing properties. For this purpose, the fender liner (10), which is a sound absorbing member to be mounted on the exterior of a vehicle, is provided with a base material layer (11) that has a sound absorbing action. This base material layer (11) is such that there is manufactured a sheet consisting of a fiber web (14) wherein main fibers (12), and binder fibers (13)having a lower melting point than that of the main fibers (12), are entangled together, that a waterproof protective film consisting of LDPE resin is integrally provided on this sheet-like web, and that subsequently, heated press forming is performed, with the result that the base material layer (11) is three-dimensionally formed into the shape of the fender liner.
