Title:
VEHICLE FRONT STRUCTURE PROVIDED WITH SENSOR FOR DETECTING PEDESTRIAN COLLISION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/186477
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In a front bumper (12), a support member (60) is mounted on a bent portion (30) of a bumper reinforcement (RF)(20), and the support member (60) extends outwardly in the vehicle width direction from the bumper RF (20). Because of this, once a pressure tube is pressed when a collision object collides with a corner portion of a vehicle, reactive force from the support member (60) is imposed on the pressure tube to deform the pressure tube. This makes it possible to detect the collision with the collision object. Here, when a load with a predetermined value or more is input to the support member (60) from the rear side, the support member (60) detaches from the bumper RF (20). This enables the support member (60) to detach from the bumper RF (20) when the support member (60) contacts a sub-radiator behind the support member (60) on the vehicle rear side during a damage test. This can suppress or prevent damage to the sub-radiator.
