Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle grille shutter opening and closing control device such that a grille shutter can be appropriately opened and closed according to the travel state of a vehicle, with the result that fuel consumption can be improved, while satisfactorily maintaining the drivability of the vehicle. When a detected vehicle speed (VP) is not less than a first predetermined criterion value (VREF1) and below a second predetermined criterion value (VREF2), a grille shutter (47) is closed (Steps 3, 5, and 6 in Figure 4), resulting in fuel consumption being improved. Meanwhile, when the vehicle speed (VP) is not less than a second predetermined criterion value (VREF2), the shutter (47) is opened (Steps 5 and 8 in Figure 4). Furthermore, the conditions for opening the shutter (47) at this time are set at least according to either the gripping force (FG) of the vehicle (V) or the steering angle (θSTR) thereof (Steps 2 and 7 in Figure 4). Due to the above, the drivability of the vehicle (V) is maintained in a satisfactory manner.
