Abstract:
A vehicle identification device (10) comprising an image acquisition unit (11), a vehicle type determination unit (12a), a determination unit (12b), first and second vehicle number reading units (13, 14), and a vehicle identification unit (16). The image acquisition unit (11) obtains images captured by a camera (20). The vehicle type determination unit (12a) determines the vehicle type of a vehicle in an image. The determination unit (12b) determines whether or not the vehicle is a specific vehicle for which display of at least two types of vehicle identification numbers is compulsory, on the basis of the vehicle type determination results. The first and second vehicle number reading units (13, 14) confirm the presence of vehicle identification numbers in the image and read at least one type of vehicle identification number. The vehicle identification unit (16) identifies the vehicle on the basis of the read vehicle identification number.
