Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle interior component capable of suppressing damage and deformation while ensuring light transparency. A vehicle interior component (1) having an interior component body (10) positioned along a vehicle chassis member (2) in a manner such that the surface thereof is exposed on the vehicle compartment interior side, and a display unit (20) that creates a display for passengers and is positioned in the interior component body (10). The display unit (20) has: a light source unit (21) for projecting light from the rear-surface side onto the interior component body (10); a transmission section (24) that is formed by making one region of the interior component body (10) thin, and creates a display that is visible from the surface side of the interior component body (10) by transmitting the light from the light source unit (12) therethrough and lighting using the same; and a reinforcing member (25) that reinforces the transmission section (24) and is positioned on the rear-surface side of the interior component body (10).
