Abstract:
A vehicle lamp provided with a lamp unit capable of forming both a low-beam light distribution pattern and a high-beam light distribution pattern. In order to provide a vehicle lamp with reduced light distribution loss, the vehicle lamp of the present invention is provided with: a first light emitting chip for low-beam; a plurality of second light emitting chips for high-beam arranged in a horizontal direction; a lens which directs light from the first light emitting chip and the second light emitting chips forward; a reflector which reflects light from the first light emitting chip toward the lens; and a shade which blocks part of the light reflected by the reflector. The lens is provided with an upper incident plane on the vertically upper side of a fundamental optical axis passing a rear fundamental focal point of the lens, and a lower incident plane on the vertically lower side of the basic optical axis. The upper incident plane has a shape with an increasing radius of curvature from the basic optical axis side toward the outer edge of the upper incident plane. The lower incident plane has a shape with an increasing radius of curvature from the center in the horizontal direction toward the outside in the horizontal direction, and with a linear vertical cross section.
