This lighting system (4) provided in a vehicle (1) capable of traveling in an automated driving mode comprises: a lighting unit (42) for emitting light to the exterior of the vehicle (1); and a lighting control unit for controlling the lighting unit (42) to visually present, to an oncoming vehicle (1A) that is present forward of the vehicle (1), information urging the oncoming vehicle to halt on the basis of the vehicle width thereof and the road width in regions lateral to the vehicle (1) .
