Abstract:
A vehicle management system (1) manages a plurality of vehicles shared by a plurality of users, and comprises: a controller (10) that receives a vehicle use request from a user and manages vehicle allocation; and a database (20) that stores a use request including a vehicle departure location and a destination specified by the user. The controller (10): calculates, as a first time, a required time until the vehicle arrives at the destination specified by a first user who made a use request; calculates, as a second time, a time which is longer than the first time and which is presented to the first user; calculates, as a service reserve capacity, the time difference between the first time and the second time; calculates a ride-sharing possible area in which the vehicle may be used for ride-sharing, on the basis of the service reserve capacity; receives a use request from a second user who is different from the first user; and causes the vehicle to go through a departure location specified by the second user, if the departure location specified by the second user is within the ride-sharing possible area.
