Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle meter illumination apparatus that can reduce the load variation even when a large number of light sources are used to display a measurement value. There are included a plurality of light emitting diodes (2) each of which uses a power, which is supplied from a power supply circuit (1), to emit a light; a display means (P) that expresses a measurement value in accordance with the number of light emitting diodes (2) that are emitting lights; and a control means (3) that determines the measurement value on the basis of information from the vehicle and that transmits control signals that switch the respective light emitting diodes (2) between light-up and light-out. The control means (3) generates the control signals that adjust the brightness of the respective light emitting diodes (2) by use of a pulse width modulation control. The control means (3) drives the light emitting diodes (2) in such a manner that the pulse rise timings of the control signals are displaced by a given time from one light source to another.
