Abstract:
Provided is a vehicle monitor system capable of perceiving a position of a following vehicle relative to a host vehicle while ensuring visibility of the following vehicle. This vehicle monitor system is provided with a detection unit that detects a vehicle located rearward of a host vehicle, a rearward imaging unit that images a prescribed angle range rearward of the host vehicle, a display unit that is provided within the host vehicle and that displays an image taken by the rearward imaging unit, and an image processor that uses the rear of the host vehicle as a reference to extract a first image of a first angle range from the image of the prescribed angle range taken by the rearward imaging unit, and that causes the extracted first image to be displayed on the display unit. When the vehicle is detected by the detection unit, the image processor extracts the first image and a second image, which is an image of a second angle range greater than the first angle range and which uses the rear as a reference, from the image of the prescribed angle range, and causes the first and second images to be displayed on the display unit.
