Abstract:
Disclosed is a system which controls the motion of a vehicle that comprises a single front wheel (12F) disposed on the front side of the vehicle, and a left wheel (14ML) and a right wheel (14MR) disposed rearward of the front wheel (12F) and on the left and right sides of the vehicle. Said system is provided with a braking device which provides braking force to the front wheel (12F), the left wheel (14ML), and the right wheel (14MR); and a control device which comprises a control section for controlling the braking device. This system is configured in such a way that in a case wherein the control section brakes the vehicle in a situation where the heading of the vehicle undergoes a change to a specific direction due to the slipping of at least either the left wheel or the right wheel, or where there is a risk of such a change occurring, and even wherein the same operation as before such a change is performed on a brake operating member, there is executed a control operation for dealing with the vehicle heading change caused by the slipping, in such a manner that the magnitude of the braking force of the front wheel (12F) will be different in the direction of the steering of the front wheel. Due to the above, a vehicle heading change caused by slipping is not furthered, or such a change is effectively restricted, with the result that it is possible to improve the stability during travel of the vehicle, which comprises the specially disposed wheels.
