Abstract:
This invention provides a vehicle-mounted communication device (10) that is mounted on a vehicle and transmits and receives, via medium-range wireless communication with one or more preset other vehicle-mounted communication devices (20), wireless information signals that are needed in order to share information between users. This vehicle-mounted communication device (10) is provided with a vehicle-density determination unit (S150) and a transmission control unit (S160, S170). The vehicle-density determination unit (S150) determines a vehicle density in the form of an index that indicates the extent to which the area around the abovementioned vehicle is crowded with other vehicles. The transmission control unit (S160, S170) controls the transmission of the abovementioned wireless information signals in accordance with the results of the determination performed by the vehicle-density determination unit (S150). The faster the vehicle is moving, the lower the vehicle-density determination unit (S150) determines the vehicle density to be.
