A vehicle-mounted device 10 mounted to a vehicle 20 comprises: a near-field communications unit 11 that performs inter-vehicle communications with a vehicle-mounted device 10 mounted on another vehicle 20; a wide-area wireless communications unit 12 that performs wide area communications with a base station 4; and a control unit 13 that notifies the vehicle-mounted device 10 mounted in another vehicle 20 about the communications state of the wide area wireless communications, via inter-vehicle communications.
