Abstract:

A vehicle-mounted device (1) mounted to a vehicle and comprising: a GPS reception device (21) that specifies the position of the vehicle-mounted device (1); a wireless communications interface (22); and an arithmetic calculation device (25). The arithmetic calculation device (25) is configured so as to, after starting normal operation, generate vehicle position information indicating the position of the vehicle-mounted device (1) specified by the GPS reception device (21), and to send the vehicle position information to an external device by using a wireless communications interface (22). The arithmetic calculation device (25) is configured so as to: send vehicle stop information indicating that the vehicle has stopped, to the external device by using the wireless communications interface (22), if the device has detected that the vehicle has stopped; and to shift the vehicle-mounted device (1) to a low power consumption state, after sending the vehicle stop information.
