Abstract:
Provided is a technique for improving the reliability of a vehicle-mounted optical device by eliminating condensation that has formed on the vehicle-interior side of glass.
This vehicle-mounted optical device is characterized in being provided with: an image capturing unit which acquires an image by capturing an image of the outside of a vehicle, through glass of the vehicle in which the image capturing unit is mounted; a condensation detecting unit which detects condensation on the glass by determining whether an image in a predetermined partial region of the captured image is in a predetermined condition; and a condensation eliminating device control processing unit which, if the condensation detecting unit has detected condensation, causes a condensation eliminating device that eliminates condensation on the glass to operate.
