Abstract:
A small-size, lightweight vehicle-mounted radar having an excellent detection performance thanks to prevention of road clutter and mountable at any place. The radar comprises an antenna (1, 2a, 2b) radiating a linearly-polarized radio wave and having at least one radiation element, a metal slit plate (7) disposed in front of the antenna and having slits therein, a radio wave absorber (5) interposed between the antenna and the slit plate, and a transmitting/receiving device which radiates a radio wave by supplying a transmission signal to the antenna and detects the direction of an obstruct according to the signal generated when a reflected wave of the radiated wave reflected from the obstruct and returning to the antenna is received by the antenna.
