Abstract:
Disclosed are a vehicle navigation apparatus and a method therefor. The vehicle navigation apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a global positioning system (GPS) receiving unit for receiving a satellite signal from a GPS satellite; a navigation execution unit for calculating the location of a vehicle based on the satellite signal received by the GPS receiving unit, mapping the calculated location with the map information provided by a geographic information system, and generating an image of the navigation information including information on the route from the location of the vehicle to the destination set by a user; an image projection unit for projecting the image of the navigation information generated by the navigation execution unit onto the front glass of the vehicle; and an image matching unit for matching the image of the navigation information projected by the image projection unit with the actual image of the area in front of the vehicle.
