Abstract:
This vehicle occupant protection control device is provided with: a seat state detection unit for detecting the orientation of a first seat and a second seat, which are located within the vehicle interior; and a vehicle occupant protection control unit configured such that, when it is detected by the seat state detection unit that the first seat and the second seat face each other, if an impact on the vehicle is detected or predicted, a first bag body which expands on a first side of the first seat in the width direction and/or a second bag body which expands on a second side of the second seat in the width direction while the first seat and the second seat face each other, the second side diagonally facing the first side, is caused by the vehicle occupant protection control unit to expand. The expansion of the first bag body presses a first vehicle occupant seated on the first seat toward the second side, or the expansion of the second bag body presses a second vehicle occupant seated on the second seat toward the first side.
