Abstract:
An vehicle onboard device, wherein a first time period measuring unit (F1) starts measuring a first time period using, as the time to begin the calculation, the time when a vehicle exit detecting device detects that a user exits a vehicle. A vehicle-side transmitter (13) transmits a response request signal at a prescribed transmission cycle until the first time period elapses. A locking and unlocking control unit (F5) keeps a door in an unlocked state while a vehicle-side receiver (15) receives a response signal and locks the door when the response signal is no longer received. Furthermore, the locking and unlocking control unit keeps the door in an unlocked state if the response signal was able to be received at the time when the first time period elapses. After the first time period has elapsed, the vehicle-side transmitter transmits a response request signal at each second time period, which is longer than the transmission cycle, and the locking and unlocking control unit keeps the door in the unlocked state while the response signal is received and locks the door when the response signal is no longer received.
