Abstract:
Provided are a vehicle passenger seat airbag device and a folding method therefor, the device comprising: a housing provided at an interior structure of a vehicle; an airbag cushion which is accommodated in a folded state in the housing, and which is inflated and deployed between the interior structure of the vehicle and a passenger when a vehicle collision occurs, so as to restrain and protect the passenger; and a flap having one end portion connected to one side of the folded airbag cushion and guiding the direction of deployment when the airbag cushion is inflated and deployed, wherein the flap sequentially covers the lower surface, the rear surface and the upper surface of the folded airbag cushion, is folded to cover both side surfaces of the airbag cushion, and is deployed to prevent interference with the housing and the interior structure of the vehicle during inflation and deployment of the airbag cushion, and thus the flap is folded to cover the rear surface, the upper surface and both side surfaces of the folded airbag cushion so that interference with adjacent structures can be prevented during inflation and deployment of the airbag cushion.
