Abstract:
A vehicle periphery monitoring apparatus (10) is equipped with a first display part (26) for display of an image (72) representing an image capture signal from an image capture apparatus (16L), and a second display part (28) for visualizing information as to the presence or absence of a subject being monitored (110, 112, 114) within a plurality of sub-regions (90L, 90C, 90R) constituting the image (72) displayed on the first display part (26), according to the presence or absence of display of marks (86, 88) respectively associated with the sub-regions (90L, 90C, 90R) within the image (72). The vehicle periphery monitoring apparatus (10) changes the display of the marks (86, 88) according to the orientation of the face and/or the orientation of the body of the live subject being monitored (110, 112, 114).
