Abstract:
In a vehicle remote operation system that remotely operates a vehicle (V) from a portable terminal (200), when the vehicle (V) is being remotely operated from the portable terminal (200) and the compartment of the vehicle (V) is not locked, the vehicle is rendered immobile by the main control unit (112) of the on-board device (100). Therefore, because the vehicle (V) can be remotely operated only when the compartment is locked, a malevolent person can be prevented from entering the vehicle (V) whilst the vehicle (V) is being remotely operated. Furthermore, even if a person in the cabin unintentionally releases the lock and opens the door during remote operation, the vehicle (V) stops, thereby assuring safety..
