Abstract:

A vehicle seat device (1) is configured in such a manner that a seat cushion (2) supported by the vehicle body through a link member (10) can be flipped up from a use position toward the front of the vehicle. The vehicle seat device (1) is provided with a lock mechanism (20). The lock mechanism (20) operates only when inertial force equal to or greater than a predetermined value acts on the seat cushion (2) in the front-rear direction of the vehicle, and the lock mechanism (20) thereby temporarily prevents the seat cushion (2) from flipping up. The lock mechanism (20) is provided with: a lock plate (21) supported by the seat cushion (2) so as to be capable of pivoting in the front-rear direction of the vehicle between a normal position and a pivoted position; and a spring (27) for pressing the lock plate (21) to the normal position. When moved by inertia to the pivoted position against the pressing by the spring (27), the lock plate (21) engages the seat cushion (2) with the link member (10) to prevent the seat cushion (2) from flipping up, and when at the normal position, the lock plate (21) unlocks the seat cushion (2).
