Abstract:
In a skid detection device for a vehicle in which the output of an engine is gear-changed by a CVT and front and rear wheels are driven separately, from the detected rotational speeds of any of the front and rear wheels, the accelerations (wheel accelerations (var1, var2)) of a wheel, the rotational speed of which has been detected, are sequentially calculated, and the ratio (var1/var2) of two accelerations among the sequentially calculated wheel accelerations, which are different in calculation times at the same wheel, is calculated (in step S10). The calculated ratio of the two accelerations is compared with a predetermined value (in step S16). When the calculated ratio of the two accelerations exceeds the predetermined value, it is determined that wheels including at least the any of the wheels are skidding (in step S18). This makes it possible to accurately detect not only the skid of any of the front and rear wheels but also a case in which, for example, the front and rear wheels simultaneously skid.
