A vehicle steering telescopic shaft having male and female shafts nonrotatably and slidably fitted together, comprising a first torque transmission device consisting of a first interposition between the male and female shafts, a first torque transmission member that is disposed in the first interposition and that rolls during the axial relative movement of the male and female shafts, and an elastic body disposed in the first interposition radially adjacent the first torque transmission member and adapted to restrain the first torque transmission member during rotation and to preload the male and female shafts through the first torque transmission member during nonrotation, and a second torque transmission device consisting of a second interposition between the male and female shafts, and a second torque transmission member disposed in the second interposition and adapted to slide during the axial relative movement of the male and female shafts and to transmit torque during rotation.
