Abstract:

A vehicle steering telescopic shaft incorporated in the steering shaft of a vehicle and including a male shaft (1) and female shaft (2) which are non-turnably and slidably fitted together, comprises torque transmission sections installed in the outer periphery of the male shaft (1) and the inner periphery of the female shaft (2), respectively, and contacting each other to transmit torque during rotation, rolling elements (7) installed between the outer periphery of the male shaft (1) and the inner periphery of the female shaft (2) at positions different from those for torque transmission section, and adapted to roll at the time of relative axial movement of the male and female shafts, and preloading sections each consisting of an elastic body (8) disposed radially adjacent the rolling element (7) for preloading the male and female shafts (1, 2) through the rolling elements (7).
