Abstract:

A camera is provided to a peripheral portion of a vehicle such as a bumper and takes images of an area including an edge and a vertically lower part of the edge in a plan view of the peripheral portion of the vehicle in the state of being projected toward the surrounding of the vehicle. Further, a drive mechanism for carrying out switching between the state where the camera is projected and the state where the camera is backed up to the side of the vehicle is provided.
