Abstract:
This vehicle surrounding information acquisition device has a radar detection unit for using radio waves to detect objects surrounding a vehicle, a lidar detection unit for using light to detect objects surrounding the vehicle, and an image detection unit for imaging the surroundings of the vehicle and using the resulting imaged image to detect objects. The vehicle surrounding information acquisition device is provided with a first processing unit for generating object information combining the detection results of the radar detection unit and the detection results of the image detection unit, a second processing unit for generating object information combining the detection results of the lidar detection unit and the detection results of the image detection unit, and a third processing unit for generating object information for the surroundings of the vehicle by integrating the object information generated by the first processing unit and the object information generated by the second processing unit.
