Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a device that makes it possible to implement a wireless network environment in a rail vehicle even when a high frequency signal with a range on the order of tens of meters is used as a wireless signal. [Solution] A wireless network environment providing device 1 for providing a wireless network environment to a street car T travelling on a street rail R, the device comprising a plurality of vehicle communication units 10 provided underground between a pair of street rails R, and an in-vehicle communication unit 20 installed in the street car T. The vehicle communication units 10 are connected to a relay device 30 by means of an optical data link 40 using an optical fiber. The relay device 30 is connected to a base station 31 by means of an optical fiber cable 32, and is connected to a network, such as the Internet. The optical data link 40 is provided with an optical fiber cable 41 and an optical signal conversion module 42. The optical signal conversion module 42 comprises an O/E conversion unit 43 for converting an optical signal into an electric signal, and an E/O conversion unit 44 for converting an electric signal into an optical signal.
