Abstract:
In the event of frontal collision with a pedestrian, the pedestrian is caught by a platform to protect the pedestrian. A vehicle (10) is provided with: a platform (11) that is disposed in front of a cab (16) and that can be rotated from an upright state to a vehicle-forwardly folded state; a pedestrian sensing system (12) that conducts prediction of frontal collision with a pedestrian; and a platform drive mechanism (13) that holds the platform (11) in the upright state and that, when frontal collision with the pedestrian is predicted by the pedestrian sensing system (12), folds the platform (11) from the upright state to the front of the vehicle so as to carry the pedestrian on the platform (11).
