Title:
VEHICLE'S TANK SYSTEM WITH BUILT-IN FUEL METER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/007449
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The vehicle's tank system with built-in fuel meter consists of a small tank (3) of capacity 1-1 1/2 lt, being placed after the external inlet of vehicle's fuel supply (2), and above the main vehicle's tank (1). The small tank possess a valve (4), which opens automatically when the quantity of the fuel overpasses half a litter (6) and directs the fuel in the main tank (1), after the fuel has previously being measured from the fuel meter sensor (5). For the completion of the supply procedure there is warning through acoustic sign, while the measurement of the fuel's quantity is being digitally depicted in the vehicle's instruments (7), excluding in this way any possible deception of the driver.

CLAIMS

1. The vehicle's tank system with built-in fuel meter consists of a small tank, of capacity 1-1 % It (3), being placed before the main tank (1) and immediately after the external inlet of vehicle's fuel supply (2), as well as a valve (4) in the base of the tank (3) and is being characterized from the fact that it has built-in fuel meter sensor (5), placed under the valve for the measurement of the fuel coming in, while it also possesses the necessary optical digital indication of fuel measurement in the vehicle's instruments (7) apart from the acoustic warning for the completion of the supply procedure. 2. The vehicle's tank system with built-in fuel meter according to claim 1. is being characterized from the fact that it is also produced in portable version and operates with battery.

Description:
VEHICLE'S TANK SYSTEM WITH BUILT-IN FUEL METER

This invention refers to a vehicle's tank system with built-in fuel meter.

Common vehicles' tanks, being used for the storage of the vehicle's fuel are known. But, those tanks do not have the possibility to check and ascertain if the quantity of the fuel being fed to the vehicle, corresponds to the quantity being shown to the pump's meter of the gas station.

The important advantage of the present invention is that by applying it at the moment that the vehicle's fuel supply is coming to an end, the driver has the possibility to check directly and ascertain if the written quantity on the gas station's meter corresponds to the real fuel quantity being supplied to the vehicle, excluding in this way any case of his own deception.

A simple way of presenting the vehicle's tank system with built-in fuel meter according to the invention is that this system has as a main feature the sensor for quantitative fuel measurement built-in to the vehicle's tank. The vehicle's tank system with built-in fuel meter, consists of the known tank for fuel storage, a smaller tank of capacity 1-1^4 It, which is being situated above the main tank immediately after the external hole of fuel entrance in the vehicle, a valve for keeping the fuel until the fuel is being accumulated within the tank at the quantity of half a litter or even more (that is when the valve opens automatically) and a fuel measuring sensor, which is being situated below the valve. With the opening of the valve, the fuel's flow during its passing from the meter is solid during all the supply process without air pockets, while there is acoustic sign which informs for the completion of the supply process, being conducted before the fuel reaches the height of the meter. After the completion of the supply process, in the vehicle's instruments there is an optical digital indication of the fuel measurement being supplied to the vehicle, while the vaive comes back to its original position by locking the tank or alternatively by starting the vehicle's engine.

Characteristic of the present invention is the embodiment of the fuel's quantitative measurement sensor in the vehicle, for the automatic fuel measurement during the vehicle's supply. According to the invention, it would be also desirable the vehicle's tank system with built-in fuel meter to be also produced in a portable version in order to cover those vehicles, which are not equipped with this invention from their factory as well as to cover other general needs. The present invention could be fully understood with the description that follows and in relation with the attached figures. In order to make it easier for the reader, identical reference numbers are being used for characterizing common elements in the figures. Figure 1 , shows that on the upper part of the known fuel tank (1) and more precisely after the hole of the external fuel inlet (2), there is one other smaller tank of capacity 1-134 It (3), which on its lower base part has a valve (4), while below the valve there is a fuel meter (5). During the supply procedure and as soon as the fuel's quantity inside the tank (3) overpasses half or one litter (6), the valve (4) opens automatically and the fuel is being directed to the central tank (1), having previously passed and measured from the measurement sensor (5), while at the same time the measurement indication is being digitally depicted in the vehicle's instruments, Figure 2 (7).

In this way the driver ascertains at the end of the supply process the real quantity of fuel provided, excluding any case of his own deception.

Figure 3 shows the portable version of the present invention. The portable device is cylindrical, with bigger opening on the upper part, does not possess a valve and the indication of the meter (5) is being depicted optically through a digital indication on the device (7), while it operates with battery (8).
