Title:
VEHICULAR AC GENERATOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2008/029623
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a vehicular generator comprising a Lundell rotor, which can increase the sectional areas of the yokes of the roots of pawl-shaped magnetic poles but can decrease the sectional areas of the portions of the confronting yokes, to relieve the magnetic saturations at the roots of the pawl-shaped magnetic poles, while retaining the winding spaces for field coils, thereby to retain sufficient magnetic fluxes to the pawl tip portions. First and second protrusions (25 and 26) are protruded from the inner wall faces of the portions of the first and second yokes (19 and 23) at the roots of the first and second pawl-shaped magnetic poles (20 and 24), and first and second recesses (27 and 28) are recessed from the inner wall faces of the first and second yokes (19 and 23) confronting the second and first protrusions (26 and 25). Moreover, the regions, in which the field coils are arranged, are shaped to fix the sectional shape of the plane containing the axis of a pole core, substantially in the circumferential direction, and are constituted in such a wave shape that they alternately meander in the axial direction at the individual positions of the first and second pawl-shaped magnetic poles (20 and 24).
