Abstract:
The present invention provides a vehicular display device including a HUD device and a display method capable of ensuring safe travel by appropriately controlling the display regions of images displayed on the windshield of a vehicle. The vehicular display device comprises a HUD device that projects, onto the windshield WS of the vehicle, the image light of an image to be displayed such that a virtual image I* of the image from reflected light is visible. The vehicular display device is capable of displaying a plurality of images ranked according to priority, and displays high-priority images such that the images displayed in a specified region As of the windshield WS do not occupy more than a predetermined display ratio (equal to the area of the images divided by the area of the specified region). The priority of warning images I2 and I31 to I34 is set higher than the priority of driving assistance images I11 to I13.
