Abstract:
Provided is a vehicular display device which is capable of providing appropriate information to a user, without being affected by changes in the position of a viewpoint of the user. This vehicular display device 10 is provided with: a viewpoint position acquisition unit 40 for acquiring a viewpoint position 100 of a user sat in a driver seat of a vehicle 1; a unit 60 for acquiring information related to an area ahead of the vehicle 1; an image generation unit 30 which generates an image reflecting the information related to the area ahead included in a prescribed region, among the information related to the area ahead acquired by the unit 60 for acquiring the information related to the area ahead; an image display unit 20 provided with a display surface 21 capable of displaying the image generated by the image generation unit 30; and a projection unit 50 which projects the image towards a light-transmitting member 2 of the vehicle 1 such that the user sat in the driver seat can see a virtual image 330. The image generation unit 30 determines, in accordance with the viewpoint position 100 of the user in the left-right direction, said viewpoint position having been acquired by the viewpoint position acquisition unit 40, the position in the display surface 21 where a first image element 250 among the image elements included in the generated image is to be displayed.
