A vehicular drive apparatus (100) comprises: an input shaft (X12) disposed on a first axis (A1); a rotor (21) disposed on a second axis (A2); a distribution differential gear mechanism (10) which is disposed on the first axis (A1) and in which a first distribution rotational element (SG) is drivably coupled to the input shaft (X12) and a third distribution rotational element (RG) is drivably coupled to the rotor (21); a transmission (34) equipped with transmission engagement devices (C2, C3); a transmission gear train (GT) which performs motive power transmission between the rotor (21) and the third distribution rotational element (RG); and a first engagement device (C1) that connects and disconnects motive power transmission between two of the three rotational elements within the distribution differential gear mechanism (10). The first engagement device (C1) and the transmission engagement devices (C2, C3) are so arranged as to fit between an end of the transmission gear train (GT) and an end of a rotary electrical machine (2) in the axial direction (L).
