Abstract:
Provided is a vehicular electronic control device capable of updating an old program to a new program. The vehicular electronic control device comprises: a storage unit that stores the old program; a receiving unit that sequentially receives a plurality of divided data items obtained by dividing, into a prescribed data length, either difference data containing a data section based on the differences between the old program and the new program and a command section for generating the new program by reflecting the data section in the old program, or difference compressed data in which the difference data has been compressed; and a reconstruction unit that executes reconstruction processing for reconstructing the new program on the basis of the divided data items received by the receiving unit and the old program. The reconstruction unit puts the reconstruction processing on hold and waits to receive the next divided data item if the command section and/or the data section are missing at least partially from the divided data received by the receiving unit.
