Abstract:
The present invention provides a vehicular headlight that is capable of forming a distinct light distribution pattern using a light source consisting of a monolithic array of surface-emitting lasers. This vehicular headlight (1a) comprises: a VCSEL array (5); an image generation part including a lens array (6) that forms incident light from the VCSEL array (5) into collimated light so that a light distribution pattern image is generated as an illuminance distribution on a light-emitting side; a light distribution pattern formation part (7) having an image-forming surface on which an image is formed with incident light from the image generation part; and a projection part (8) that emits incident light from the light distribution pattern formation part to a to-be-irradiated area in front of the vehicle.
